2019-2020 Programs

April 11, 2019 - - Kokedama is a Japanese art style with living plants and moss balls.
Materials and instructions will be provided to make your own kokedama. Fee for materials.

May 9, 2019 - - Who likes mosquitos? We will learn how to design a patio container with
herbs and flowers to ward off those annoying mosquitos.

June 13, 2019 - - We will visit a member’s beautiful garden begun in 2011 and perhaps learn
some of her very creative sources for inexpensive plants.

July 11, 2019 - - Carpool to Lavendair Farm in Fort Ann to tour the English and French fields
of lavender and check out the gift shop. Lunch at a nearby restaurant. Fee for tour plus lunch.

August, 2019 - No meeting.

September 12, 2019 - - Stacy Simmons, manager of Brookside Nursery, will discuss
underused late blooming plants to finish out the season in color. Q&A session to follow.

October 10, 2019 - - An autumnal floral arrangement without a pumpkin? A member will
create the arrangement explaining her process. Q&A session to follow.

November 14, 2019 - - Learn from a Pro! A demonstration to be presented by one of the
Judges from the Federated Garden Club of New York.

December 12, 2019 - - Holiday luncheon at Lake Ridge Restaurant in Round Lake with a
surprise gift exchange.

January 2020 - No meeting.

February 13, 2020 - - Our tea party tradition continues with a fun Mardi Gras theme.

March 12, 2020 - - Irish pot luck luncheon and installation of Officers to be held at
member’s home.

April 9, 2020 - - Think you knew all about the birds and the bees? Cornell Cooperative
Extension will give a presentation on plants and/or shrubs beneficial to birds

Unless otherwise noted, monthly club meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 1:00 PM at the Henry Cornell American Legion Post 234, 23 Pleasant Street, Ballston Spa.  Each monthly session includes a business meeting, a special presentation or a craft for all attendees to participate in, and a snack.
